(12-28-09) Day 7: “At the Beginning”

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. It is located at #105 Scout Rallos Street, Brgy. Sacred Heart, Kamuning, Quezon City.

Oh… what a day! This Monday was tiring yet very overwhelming. In the morning we got to enjoy playing outdoor activities with some of the LCRC residents. “Pak, pak”, then smash here and smash there… I really love playing badminton. That was the only time I got to play this sport again. Then after 4 days we got to see our practicum supervisor again. He met us and updated him for the things that had happened from past days. Thanks to him I gained new tidbits that I will add up to my coconut shell. Ahhhh… coconut shell. Hehe”, Upon meeting the residents, we guided them for their rehearsal; they will be presentating dance and song presentation for the Year- end special by Wednesday. “At the Beginning” was the song and they moved their feet to the tune of some ballroom dancing. In the afternoon, only the four of us, practicum students, got to facilitate the rehearsal. It was pretty hard then because of we haven’t got to practice with the music appropriate for the presentation but the show must go on as they say… we can not leave the residents with sorrys. It was very overwhelming that although we’re outnumbered and things happen as it is, we made the day worthy as we, the practicum students, and the LCRC residents practiced really well and enjoyed rehearsing. My conclusion for this day: Accountability is what I have learned for this day. We should also be responsible of other things around us; it is not always right to think only for our sake. We must also be liable for the welfare of others. Thank God for this day! Smiles.
