Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. It was the first Monday of the year and I expected a lot of things to start anew. This was also my very first time to be the main facilitator for a new week with a theme coz usually I have always been a co- facilitator that assists with colleagues for the entire process of the activity. My first time was pretty good but it was not the best however, I’m looking forward for my improvements in the coming activities to be facilitated. The theme for this week is “Creating Authentic and Caring Relationship”. For this day, the theme has been introduced; a relationship was built and we’re trying to make the group attain the “authentic and caring relationship” concept through different activities dealing with the key factors in obtaining the kind of relationship mentioned. I enjoyed the afternoon activities especially the “Caterpillar”; I got to share my experiences by joining with them. I felt I was in a ride that people were the machines that made me move unconsciously. Hehe”, unfortunately our group did not win but I think everybody had fun and of course they also gained learning experiences from it. Oh… this day also was about a lot of things to do but I supposed it will be accomplished then gradually. I also thank God for the blessings for this day especially that I got bonus hours for attending to my duty during the holidays. Within the day I learned that in order for us to create an authentic and caring relationship, we always need to start with ourselves first. We should realize one’s full potential by gaining a better understanding of oneself and how to best use these potentials when working with others for it will help us built the trust that is one of the keys to have a different kind of relationship with others.
