(12-22-09) Day 4: “Bahay, Baboy, Bagyo!”

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. This day was getting better from what I had yesterday. I could feel that I together with other practicumers, were getting comfortable with the residents of LCRC. Yes! Finally, I got to see them smile, laugh, and get excited with every activity that we facilitate. In the morning, we played basketball, rode the bicycle, and played badminton. We had planned for the Year- end special to be held on Dec. 30, 2009 and we prepared a lot of exciting activities for the residents. Yihee, I’m so excited again! My favorite part of this day was the “Bahay, Baboy, Bagyo!” activity. For sure, this activity was their favorite too. We got to interact with everybody with this activity and I have learned that in life, people come and go but what’s important is that what people had marked on to others or what we call the relationship we had on them. How could I ever forget that I was one of those who forgot that I was part of the game and that I was the “taya” for couple of times. Haha! Also, we gained new friends by the name of Lala and Gayle of UST; they were very approachable and we got the same type of sense of humor. That is why we got to laugh the whole day and talk very much of everything or anything under the Tuscan sun. Thank God for this wonderful Tuesday! May God bless us always…smiles.
