It is a realization day today. To begin with, Pastor Paul shared with us some ways in order for us to enhance our spirituality.

1. Discover our self and who we really are: In enhancing spirituality, it does not mean that it should focus mainly with our faith in God, bible studies, and the like. It is about reflecting on ourselves and contemplating on the situation of what we are now and how far we’ve gone.

2. Find meaning or purpose in life: In enhancing spirituality, we need to discover the meaning of why we live in this world that will serve as guidance and a stronger sense of life direction to achieve our dreams. Upon finding our purpose, life will be lived with peace and enjoyed to the fullest.

3. Have a daily quiet time: Let us not forget to at least share some of our time to speak up to the One who have created us. This quiet time will enable us to express what we really feel and reflect on certain things which causes most of our worries and fears. Try at least to stop for a while and ponder on; Let us feel God’s presence and let Him give us the guidance that we badly need throughout our lives.

4. Involve yourself in support groups and activities: Most of the problems are caused by trying to isolate ourselves and solving the problems in our own. It is never a harsh thing to let other people help you throughout what you are experiencing. They can be a helping hand in times that you will need them.

5. Worship God through singing: Express our gratitude with God by means of singing praises for Him.

In the afternoon, Ms. Yoly Magbantay, a food chemist shared to us her knowledge about “nutrition” by means of a mini- seminar offered by the LCRC as a staff development program. She helped us understand the need to educate ourselves regarding the right way and right food to eat. She gave tips about maintain healthy lifestyle and maintaining good nutrition. As she finished her talk, she marked: It will end up that we might not eat anything if we really wanted to aim for a clean- healthy living. Because, everything that we eat are mostly processed and most of the time plants are dispensed with pesticides and other chemicals which are harmful to our health. Go natural… go green!

On the other hand, the movie Flywheel taught us that “every man’s life has a turning point”. One day we will wake up and in turn realizes our mistakes we’ve done. It is not at all times that we continue the paths we have crossed; there comes a point that we will stop and realize: “Why do I have to do these things?” Life is about realizations and learning lessons from our experiences. It maybe hard to do it but the consequences are enlightening and worthy.

Lastly, we discussed a growing issue about the way we interact with most of the residents. Just like my co- practicum student said: We are being so comfortable with them to the point that we are becoming friends to them. By this time, we need to evaluate ourselves. Draw the line between being friends and being professionals. We came here in LCRC to be professionals, be friendly but not to befriend them. This issue must not be blamed to others; we take full responsibility of the actions we made.

It’s truly true that learning is a continuous process because it always happen everyday. Thank God for this day! Thank God for making me realize that I need to be accountable for the actions I made and not to blame others for what I have done! Smiles”,
