First day of the love month! It is now February, yihee! Today, there were newcomers that really we could feel it is a new chapter to begin with. There were 2 new residents and some of the former residents were already discharged. It is sad to know that time was really fast; it was like by this day things were new then tomorrow it will turn out to be old and forgotten. Nothing is really permanent except change which is the only thing constant in this world. Furthermore, there is a guest named Peter from United Kingdom who grew up with Hungarian parents and also lived in Romania (very international, huh!) He is a graduate of Economics and also a graduate of Psychology; now he is taking his Masters in Psychoanalysis (WOW!) We were lucky enough that there will be another international friend just like the German psychologist together with her friend who visited the LCRC last year.
There were a lot of insights learned today and I was very happy that resident A is getting better and better with the insights he shares; I think he was very good as well as the other residents, too! Claps! I am happy to see the improvements in them; I feel grateful and overwhelmed! Our theme for this week is Enhancing Spirituality. It implicates our need to undergo self- reflection as a continuation of the last week’s theme, Finding Meaning in Life. It does not only revolve around our faith with God and relationship with Him; it also tackles the need to understand how we could obtain peace, wholeness, and the need to enhance that certain aspect that is commonly overlooked- SPIRITUALITY.
Often times we do not try to listen with what God is trying to evoke with us. Instead, we do not focus with it and sometimes listen to those who could bring us to the wrong way. Just like in the BLIND DRAWING activity, the illustrations drawn by those who were blindfolded ended up in something different from the way it should be. We should always obey by listening so that it could turn out to be favorable ones. The two should always go in the same way. Furthermore, it is not only in seeing that we believe. Sometimes, we only need to hold on with our faith to believe. God is never seen and yet we still believe in Him. For he has always made our lives worthy and there were times that we are the ones who just neglect everything He is doing for us. In obeying Him, we enhance our spirituality and we become closer to Him.
“Faith without action is dead.” If we keep on holding in our faith but never acted to what is right, it does not make any sense at all. It is also the same with the famous Tagalog saying: “Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa.” If we keep on praying all day and all night without doing any executions of what we pray for, prayers won’t really work.
It’s truly true that learning is a continuous process because it always happens everyday. Thank God for this day! Thank God for making me realize that I am incomplete without You in my life! Smiles”,
