(01-27-10) Day 21: “Happy Graduation to the Most Encouraging Resident!”

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. It is located at #105 Scout Rallos Street, Brgy. Sacred Heart, Kamuning, Quezon City.

For further information about LCRC, you may contact 415-7964 or 415-6529. You may also visit www.randydellosa.com

It was euphoric! There were a lot of emotions that showered all throughout the LCRC that day. It was the very busy day for everyone there. A lot of relatives of the residents visited and I was very happy to see the residents to bond with them. It was like a Family Day! Also, it was this day that the residents went their lives into usual days after they had their sanctions for a week. Furthermore, we experienced being models of the photo shoot for the book to be launched by Doc Randy. We did not expect that there will be “pictorial for I thought there will be a convention or a seminar to be attended because our supervisor told us to bring some corporate attire.” How does it feel then? It was overwhelming actually especially that we got the chance to be with Doc Randy that day. I hope we could attend to his trainings like being a life coach. It would definitely be very grateful to have a mentor in such field.

The highlight of the day was the graduation day of the most encouraging resident, Kuya Ne. It was a surprise graduation for him; but hard to prepare for everything should be a surprise. However, it really went well though there were some problems encountered at first. Everything were in fast pace and it seemed to be spontaneous. Now I am learning the art of being spontaneous that was really different form what I used to be. Everyone went emotional as messages were delivered to the main man of the event. It was really hard to control the tears in my eyes that in the end have fallen as I take pictures of the event. I have controlled it initially as the family members of Kuya Ne started giving messages to him. It was a success, however, when our supervisor expressed what he felt during his remarks my eyes started to release everything that I kept. My tears gradually dropped from the lids of my eyes unexpectedly.

It was a goodbye to LCRC and to the residents but he could always comeback as a volunteer anytime he wanted to. For me, he was a leader, a friend to everyone and he never failed to encourage others to do things. Even I just been with him in LCRC for few months, I could say that he never failed to show the best in him.

At the end of his program in LCRC that truly changed him, he will finally make a step to start something new. A new life to conquer and a chance to prove to the world he is now for the better… of course, for the best, too! I hope that he will also bring with him what LCRC has taught him, his experiences with his co- residents, and the memories of being a resident as he will start a new journey. Thank You and Good luck, to the most encouraging resident!

“People are like pencils. There are times that we will be dull and blunt yet we could always be sharpened. And as we make mistakes, we could always try to erase it and start to write again… to have a new hope to start a new beginning and a new chapter in our lives.

It’s truly true that learning is a continuous process because it always happens everyday. Thank God for this day! Thank God for making me realize that in some points of our lives we have to come to an end of what he have started and move on to start something new… for the better and of course, for the best! Smiles”,
